I sent a very good friend of mine in California about a hundred flowers and a balloon to let her know that I was thinking of her on her birthday. I haven't seen her in over a year and I wanted to remind her of how special she is and what her friendship means to me.
I ordered it on Thursday, December 4th and the anticipated delivery date was for the next day, Friday, December 5th. As I was getting updated emails from the vendor, I anxiously awaited for the delivery confirmation email via FedEx. Friday evening, I received a delivery confirmation e-mail stating that it was delivered (with no signature) to her residence at about 2:30 p.m. The next day, I didn't hear from her at all, so I emailed her asking if she received anything. She told me no. Oh dear. She said she would double check. She said any deliveries to her building are left out in the lobby if the recipient isn't available. I didn't want to ruin the surprise by telling her what it was, however, when she reconfirmed that she did not receive it, I had to tell her what it was. ARRRRRRGH! What the F? Why the F would someone steal someone else's flowers?!!! That's just so wrong.
Well, I called vendor last night indicating that she never received the flowers and how I was disappointed. The representative was kind and asked if I wanted to resend it again. What - and have someone steal her flowers, AGAIN?! No way. The rep told me that they do not deliver with signature confirmation and that instances like this rarely happens.
Time to look for another gift and to make sure that I get a signature confirmation on the delivery. *SIGH*
